About
Welcome to the McCully-Mōʻiliʻili Public Library! Designed by architect Robert Matsushita, our two-story library opened on Nov. 22, 1969. Our library features an auditorium and a carpeted storytelling well. In addition, the Korean Library Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Sook Ki and Eugene Moon in 1997, is located on the 2nd floor, where it maintains the largest Korean language collection in the library system.

Are you an artist or content creator? Are you interested in sharing and uplifting stories from your communities? Youth & students are invited to join the Hawai’i Workers Center and Hawai’i State Public Library System for an Imua Youth Leadership Academy Art & Media for Social Change two-part workshop. We’ll explore world events and news, learn skills like how to identify online and print misinformation & disinformation, how to have conversations with people to come to a shared understanding, and ways to create people-centered media.
Session 2: 8/16/25, 1pm-3pm at McCully-Mōʻiliʻili Public Library
We’ll explore the impact of art around the world and have space for creating zines and block prints.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. Program schedule is subject to change.
